Being flexible when teaching little kids

I find it very important to be flexible when teaching little kids. I have found that the more creative I am in trying to help out students get through a particular difficult part in a song, the faster they learn. However, I would suggest refraining from doing anything extravagant and focus more on changing the teaching approach over and over until something sticks and then go from there.

This approach is singing Twinkle Twinkle through the Mississippi Hop frog. Often I've found that students have a difficult time transition from the first, second and then third verse of the song. If they're able to remember the original song (Twinkle Twinkle) and have it in their head, they will better be able to hear the tone/key that they will be playing next and know that the song continues.
