Since my daughter touches the horse hair A LOT, she gets a ton of oils and dirt into the strings. When we first started violin I couldn't figure out why the bow had such a scratchy sound and I was using a basic inexpenisve rosin. I asked her teacher and she showed me what type she uses. When I started to use the Clarity Spectrum, it made a world of a difference.
Try it out if your child's bow doesn't seem to have the amount of sound that you are hoping it will produce.
